Ismail son of Ibrahim had twelve sons: Nabit, Qaydar, Adhbal, Misha, Masma'a, Mashi, Dima, Adhar, Tima, Yutura, Nabash and Qaydhuma.

Nabit son of Ismail begot Uashjub who begot Ya'rub who begot Tayrah who begot Nahur who begot Muqawwim who begot Udad who begot Adnan.

From Adnan tribes were dispersed from Ismail's line. Adnan begot twelve sons Ma'add amd 'Akk.

'Akk settled in Yemen after marrying from the Ashari people, so the home and language became one. The Ashari people were descendants of Ashar ibn Nabt ibn Udad ibn Humaysi ib Amr ib Arib ibn Yashjub ibn Zayd ibn Kahlan ibn Yashjub ibn Yarub ibn Qahtan.

As for Ma'add the other son of Adnan he begot four sons: Nizar,Quda'ah,Qanas and Iyad. Quda'ah went to Himyar ibn Saba in Yemen, and Qanas were said to have perished and all other sons of Ma'add among whom was An-Nu'man ibnul Mundhir who the king of Hirah.
