سورة العاديات
بِسمِ ٱلله الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيـمِ
ﻣﻜﻴﺔ أو ﻣﺪﻧﻴﺔ وﺁﻳﺎﺗﻬﺎ إﺣﺪى ﻋﺸﺮة
This sura is either Makkan or Madinan and has 11 ayats.
{ وَالْعَادِيَات } الْخَيْل تَعْدُو فِي الْغَزْو وَتَضْبَح { ضَبْحًا } هُوَ صَوْت أَجْوَافهَا إِذَا عَدَتْ
1. By the charging horses panting hard – which attack in a raid, making a loud noise as they attack,
{ فَالْمُورِيَات } الْخَيْل تُورِي النَّار { قَدْحًا } بِحَوَافِرِهَا إِذَا سَارَتْ فِي الْأَرْض ذَات الْحِجَارَة بِاللَّيْلِ
2. …striking sparks from their flashing hooves when their hooves strike the stones in the ground at night,
{ فَالْمُغِيرَات صُبْحًا } الْخَيْل تُغِير عَلَى الْعَدُوّ وَقْت الصُّبْح بِإِغَارَةِ أَصْحَابهَا
3. …raiding at full gallop in the early dawn – horsemen attacking the enemy at first light,
{ فَأَثَرْنَ } هَيَّجْنَ { بِهِ } بِمَكَانِ عَدْوهنَّ أَوْ بِذَلِكَ الْوَقْت { نَقْعًا } غُبَارًا بِشِدَّةِ حَرَكَتهنَّ
4. …leaving a trailing dust-cloud in their wake – raising dust because the speed of their movement,
{ فَوَسَطْنَ بِهِ } بِالنَّقْعِ { جَمْعًا } مِنْ الْعَدْو أَيْ صِرْنَ وَسَطه وَعُطِفَ الْفِعْل عَلَى الِاسْم لِأَنَّهُ فِي تَأْوِيل الْفِعْل أَيْ وَاَللَّاتِي عَدَوْنَ فَأَوْرَيْن فأغرن
5. …cleaving through the middle of the foe! – penetrating to the heart of the enemy settlement –
{ إِنَّ الْإِنْسَان } الْكَافِر { لِرَبِّهِ لَكَنُود } لَكَفُور يَجْحَد نعمته تعالى
6. Truly unbelieving man is ungrateful to his Lord denying the blessings of Allah –
{ وَإِنَّهُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ } أَيْ كَنُوده { لَشَهِيد } يَشْهَد عَلَى نَفْسه بِصُنْعِهِ
7. …and indeed he bears witness to that – to his ingratitude against himself by his actions.
{ وَإِنَّهُ لِحُبِّ الْخَيْر } أَيْ الْمَال { لَشَدِيد } الْحُبّ لَهُ فَيَبْخَل بِهِ
8. Truly he is fierce in his love of wealth and is miserly with it.
{ أَفَلَا يَعْلَم إِذَا بُعْثِرَ } أُثِيرَ وَأُخْرِجَ { مَا فِي الْقُبُور } مِنْ الْمَوْتَى أَيْ بُعِثُوا
9. Does he not know that when the graves are emptied out – and the dead emerge from them at the Resurrection –
{ وَحُصِّلَ } بُيِّنَ وَأُفْرِزَ { مَا فِي الصُّدُور } الْقُلُوب مِنْ الْكُفْر وَالْإِيمَان
10. …and the heart’s contents – whether unbelief and faith – are brought into the open and made clear and public,
{ إِنَّ رَبّهمْ بِهِمْ يَوْمئِذٍ لَخَبِير } لَعَالَم فَيُجَازِيهِمْ عَلَى كُفْرهمْ أُعِيدَ الضَّمِير جَمْعًا نَظَرًا لِمَعْنَى الْإِنْسَان وَهَذِهِ الْجُمْلَة دَلَّتْ عَلَى مَفْعُول يَعْلَم أَيْ إِنَّا نُجَازِيه وَقْت مَا ذَكَرَ وَتَعَلَّقَ خَبِير بِيَوْمَئِذ وَهُوَ تَعَالَى خَبِير دَائِمًا لِأَنَّهُ يوم المجازاة
11. …on that Day their Lord will certainly be aware of them. He has knowledge and He will repay them for their unbelief. The pronoun here moves to the plural, indicating that “man” is generic and includes all human beings. Here the statement is particular to this moment, which is the Day of Repayment, although of course Allah is always aware of them.
